Hello, I’m Selen. I was born in Bursa, Turkey, in 1984. It took me some time to discover my love for children’s books and illustration. After college, a career in marketing, and completing an MBA in Cape Town (I just love mentioning Cape Town whenever I get the chance because I adore everything about that city—though the MBA itself wasn’t great, my time there was unforgettable), I co-founded an educational startup in Turkey.

Eventually, I found my way to illustrating. When our daughter, Ela, entered our world, I discovered the magical land of picture books. It truly felt like coming home.

Today, I am a self-taught illustrator, living in Amsterdam with my family.
